Description: PLEASE READ: Happy Holidays everyone! I feel that I need to leave this note here – with all that is going on in the world (not limited to just the pandemic), I wanted to express that the purpose of this video is not meant to be tone deaf to the issues going on currently. I am merely sharing the decorations in our home this year. Intentionally, I kept most of our décor fairly “simple” with the reds … most of the items are what we had already in our possession. Every year I have a self-imposed small budget for new Christmas items, in an attempt to ‘combat’ blatant consumerism and also because we will – hopefully – have many more years to curate and add to our collection. The new items this year are a set of “nicer” garlands – my favorite Christmas decorations. I added these to our existing garlands to make them fuller. I also purchased the red velvet poinsettias, which are in my humble opinion, an iconic Christmas decoration. These can be reused in many, many ways. Along with the poinsettias, I purchased mini berry picks and inexpensive red ornament baubles. With sharing this information, I hope that you understand that you don’t always need nice and new, you can always build on what you already have. With the 300 roses I made, I used approximately 6 packs of 50pc paper purchased from Michael’s at $2 a pack. All in all, and not counting the time, making all of these mini roses cost $15-20 to make. I will be re-purposing them later on as well. This year has been INCREDIBLY hard on everyone. I hope this video brought even the tiniest smile to your face as Christmas is a magical time and nothing is “too much” if it brings cheer.
